The Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park offers a great product in a central location with scenic park views.

During a trip down under, this traveler was looking for a centrally located hotel from which to explore Sydney’s sights. Amongst Sydney’s limited Marriott options, this property stood out as just the right spot…. and this traveler was not disappointed.
In this post:

Location, Arrival, & Check-In
The Sheraton Grand Hyde Park, as the name suggests, is located near Hyde Park, right across to be exact. The hotel is a 30 minute Uber ride from the airport with no traffic, but can also easily be accessed using the nearby public transportation options.
When this tired traveler arrived after an 8-hour flight from Singapore Changi, the bellmen quickly grabbed the luggage and escorted them to the lobby for check-in. There was a separate line for Marriott Bonvoy Elites, but the several other lines were also not too long, despite the hotel hosting a week-long conference that claimed most of the rooms.
Hotel Room
This hotel features 558 rooms and suites, with several overlooking Hyde Park. Despite being at near 100% occupancy, this traveler was upgraded to an Executive floor King room overlooking the park. The views did not disappoint.
Walking into the room, there’s a glass work desk and an L-shaped lounger wrapped around the the corner, providing an excellent location to enjoy the view. Continuing in there’s a marble-topped mini bar cabinet and a large TV across from the king-sized bed.
In the hallway at the entrance, two doors invite guests into a large bathroom or their own walk-in closet/dressing room. This closet provides an excellent spot to store luggages and includes a full-body mirror too. The bathroom features several large mirrors and includes the Sheraton’s featured amenities.
Club Lounge

Access to the Sheraton Club on the 21st floor is a welcomed perk for guests in executive rooms, or with Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status and higher. This expansive lounge – outdoor terrace and grand archway buffet includes – is not one to miss. The lounge also features a private boardroom complete with office supplies if needed. A breakfast buffet is available in the mornings for those wishing to escape the crowd at the restaurant below, in addition to snacks throughout the day and a selection of appetizers and drinks in the evening.
Amenities
Unfortunately, this traveler spent most of the time out of the hotel exploring Sydney, but noticed several dining options including a well-advertised Seafood Buffet several nights a week, and a bar/cafe located across from the breakfast restaurant, The Gallery. Located above the lounge is a large in-door lap pool and a 24-hour fitness center. Both offer stunning views of Hyde Park and the surrounding city.
Conclusion
This hotel is an excellent option in the heart of Sydney for those looking to explore the city while also indulging in a bit of comfort.
